Pakistan army has decided to join the Pakistan army as a captain in 2023 for male and female cadets. This was said by Pakistan army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday. He was addressing the graduation ceremony of Mangla Military College. The president of Pakistan has already approved the appointment of General Bajwa as army chief. Later in the day, Brigadier Arshad Malik, who is the military secretary and head of the Mangla Military College also announced that Pakistan will form an army in 2023. Brigadier Arshad Malik said that 2023 was a historical period for Pakistan.


The Pakistani army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Friday that Pakistan will form an army by 2023. The army chief was addressing the graduation ceremony of Mangla Military College. “Pak army is witnessing the ups and downs since its inception. The world has witnessed that today the Pakistani army is facing various challenges,” he said. The army chief said that the Pakistan army is emerging as a strong force to tackle any challenge. Bajwa further said that it is not his command but of the people.


He further said, “India is interfering in Pakistan. The Pakistan army is ready to fight with India. He said that the Pakistan army will add more strength to fight India’s psychological warfare”. Meanwhile, President Arif Alvi felicitated the graduates of Mangla Military College, the Chief of Army Staff, and their parents on completing one year of being officers of the Pakistan army. In his message, the president appreciated the role of the Pakistan army in the ongoing Afghan peace process. He further commended the role of the Pakistan army in the ongoing war against terrorism.

 Requirements of captain jobs in the Pak army 


To be eligible for the position of captain in the Pakistan Army, you must meet the following requirements:


(1)Age: You must be between 22 and 28 years old.


(2)Education: You must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university or institution.


(3)Physical Fitness: You must pass the physical fitness test and medical examination to ensure that you are physically fit for military service.


(4)Citizenship: You must be a citizen of Pakistan and have a valid National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) if applicable.


(5)Background Check: You must pass a thorough background check to ensure that you have a clean record and do not have any criminal or disqualifying information.


(6)Training: You must complete the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Cadet Training Course and any additional specialized training required for your chosen branch of service.

Masood Khan in his address to officers and other ranks of the South Punjab Corp Corps on Monday said that this Corps was the first effort by the Government of Pakistan to provide a full-time opportunity to the youth of South Punjab to get experience at higher levels to get career development. He emphasized that participation in community development projects for the socio-economic uplift of the people and benefiting from collective experiences of having served as corps commander, major general, and lieutenant general in the army is a matter of pride and a matter of national service for the youth of South Punjab.

KARACHI: Major (retd) Jamshed Ahmed, a career army officer of 22 Punjab Regimental Center has been appointed as the captain of the Pakistan Army with the rank of Lieutenant General.


Major Jamshed, an officer of Pakistan Army’s National Defence University, has joined the Defence Ministry and would continue to reside in Rawalpindi, a message received here from the GHQ said.


Among others, Lieutenant General Farooq Naser Ahmad, Vice Chief of Army Staff, (VCAS) has approved the appointment of Major (retd) Jamshed Ahmed as captain in the Pakistan Army in the rank of Lieutenant General (LTG).


Pakistan Army spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor said in a tweet that “Major General Jamshed Ahmed is the first Army officer in Pakistan Armed Forces who has successfully completed the ‘N-1’ course from Defence University, Pakistan. Major General Jamshed Ahmed has left the National Defence University, Rawalpindi, and is now at GHQ for the formal announcement of his appointment as Captain in the Pakistan Army.”


“When someone raises a flag and is under attack, he comes under fire,” said Rawat, as he saluted the Kashmiri soldiers. “The soldiers, who are there on the borders, should know that they are under attack too. If someone comes and starts pelting stones, and if we find those soldiers guilty, we will award them a captain’s medal.”


Earlier, General Rawat had described Kashmiri soldiers as “somebody” and said their allegiance to the Indian flag is “altered” when they decide to join the stone-pelting mobs in the name of defending India’s unity.


“This needs to stop. My expectation from the Army is that we should look at this holistically because whatever is happening, I am giving you a free hand, and the last thing I want is that the Army becomes the military police and the police to become the Army. I am giving you a free hand, my expectations are from you,” General Rawat said.


Rawat had made these comments at the flag hoisting ceremony organized by the Army’s Srinagar-based 11 Corps in Jammu on Friday. The chief of the Army’s Northern Command had also said that he expects the Kashmiri soldiers to respect the Army’s rules of engagement.


“I expect that if anyone is trying to stop us from doing our duty, then the Army will deal with it sternly. I expect soldiers to have a free hand. There should be no restraint or license,” General Rawat had said.


General Rawat had first mentioned awarding a captain’s medal to a Kashmiri soldier if they are found to be part of the stone-pelting mobs in an interaction with journalists in Srinagar.
